SonicOne

SonicOne is an ultrasonic system to treat chronic wounds. Through debridement with SonicOne, necrotic tissue and bacteria can be efficiently lysed, and the healing cascade of the wound is stimulated.

What is the clinical problem?

Patients suffering from non-healing wounds as decubitus, ulcus cruris, open legs or diabetic foot syndrome are often restricted in their daily quality of life and a time-intensive and heavy treatment is required. Chronic wounds are often covered by a bacterial biofilm and necrotic tissue, which is impeding the healing.

How does SonicOne work?

SonicOne is using a piezoelectric technology, leading to longitudinal oscillations of the tips with a frequency of 22.5 kHz. The oscillations stimulate the healthy, elastic tissue to move with the tip, whereas necrotic tissue remains in its position and will be removed. SonicOne is preserving healthy tissue and develops under continuous irrigitaion a cavitation effect, that is efficiently removing biofilm and bacteria.

Advantages of SonicOne

SonicOne acts due to the oscillations tissue selective and preserves healthy tissue. Because of its efficient technique, the number of required debridements can be reduced. Bleedings are reduced, because vital structures as vessels are preserved. In the OR environment, the SonicOne tips can be combined with integrated aspiration, leading to a reduction of spray dispersion of bacteria and particles. SonicOne can be used in the OR and in the clinic. The versatile tip portfolio enables to cover the different wound types.

Results

Ultrasonic debridement supports the healing cascade and efficiently lyses bacteria. Patients respond well to the therapy.
